Barbari Bread
Ingredients
* 500 g flour (4 cups)
* 10 g dry yeast (1 tablespoon / 1 packet instant yeast)
* 20 g sugar (1.5 tablespoons)
* 70 g butter (5 tablespoons)
* 325 g water (1.5 cups)
* 10 g salt (1 teaspoon)
🥣 Instructions
1. Place all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine.
2. Knead for about 10 minutes until you obtain a smooth, cohesive dough.
3. Lightly oil the top and bottom of the dough, cover, and let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes.
4. Divide the dough into two pieces and place them on a baking tray. Shape into ovals. Cover and let rise again for 20–30 minutes.
5. Brush the top with egg yolk (optionally thin with a little water).
6. Shape with your fingertips and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
7. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (no fan) for about 20 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
